S4/SAP BW

Track
Enterprise Technologies
Duration
75 Days

02 //Why this course

Why this course.

S4/SAP BW is proposed as a 75-day SAP BW/4HANA-focused data warehousing and analytics program covering enterprise data-warehouse architecture, data acquisition, modeling, transformations, DataStore Objects (advanced), Open ODS Views, CompositeProviders, BW Queries, reporting, operational data loading and administration.

SAP's current BW/4HANA learning architecture is organized around three layers—data acquisition, data modeling and data analysis—and identifies objects such as InfoObjects, DataStore Objects (advanced), Open ODS Views and CompositeProviders as core modeling components. SAP's implementation course also covers DataSources, Transformations, Data Transfer Processes, master/transactional loads and administrative/operational data-loading activities.

05 //Projects and practice

Learning by doing.

  1. 01

    BW/4HANA Architecture Blueprint

design the acquisition, modeling and analysis layers for a fictional enterprise.

  2. 02

    S/4HANA Data Acquisition Lab

connect a representative source and define DataSources/ODP acquisition.

  3. 03

    Master Data Model

build InfoObjects/characteristics with attributes and texts.

  4. 04

    ADSO Data Warehouse Layer

create staging/data mart/standard modeling patterns and load transactional data.

  5. 05

    Transformation & DTP Lab

implement field mapping, cleansing, filters and controlled data transfer.

  6. 06

    Open ODS Modeling Lab

compare virtual access with a persisted ADSO data-flow scenario.

  7. 07

    CompositeProvider & Semantic Model

combine providers using union/join patterns and add business semantics.

  8. 08

    BW Query & Reporting Lab

create a business query with filters, hierarchies and calculated/restricted measures.

  9. 09

    Operations Lab

build an operational load schedule/monitoring procedure and troubleshoot a failed load.

  10. 10

    Data Quality & Reconciliation Case

reconcile source totals with BW targets and document exceptions.

  11. 11

    Integrated Capstone

    source → acquisition → transformation → ADSO → CompositeProvider → BW Query → reporting → operations.

08 //Learning journey

From foundation to capability.

How learning builds through a course. It describes the approach, not a promised outcome.

Foundation to capability

How learning builds

  1. Stage 01

    Foundation

The core concepts, vocabulary and tools the rest of the course builds on.

  2. Stage 02

    Practice

Guided exercises that turn concepts into working skills.

  3. Stage 03

    Application

Applying those skills to realistic problems and project work.

  4. Stage 04

    Capability

Using what you've learned with growing independence and judgement.
