02 //Why this course

Why this course.

S4/SAP PP is proposed as a 75-day S/4HANA Production Planning program covering the journey from manufacturing master data and demand requirements through MRP, capacity planning, planned orders, production orders, shop-floor execution, confirmations, goods receipt, costing and operational analysis.

SAP's current learning content describes production planning as an end-to-end process that includes master data, production requirements, requirements planning, capacity planning and production execution. SAP also identifies materials, BOMs, routings, work centers, production resources/tools and production versions as key master data for production orders.

Production orders connect planning to execution: SAP describes creation, scheduling, release, material withdrawal/goods issue, confirmations, goods receipt and settlement as core execution steps, with integration into capacity planning, costing and inventory management.

05 //Projects and practice

Learning by doing.

  1. 01

Product & Production Master Data Blueprint

create a finished product, component structure, BOM, routing, work center and production version.

  2. 02

    Demand-to-MRP Simulation

start with a demand scenario, execute planning logic and interpret planned orders/procurement proposals.

  3. 03

    Capacity Constraint Lab

identify a bottleneck, inspect scheduling/capacity requirements and propose a planning response.

  4. 04

    Production Order Execution Lab

create/release an order, issue components, confirm operations and post finished-goods receipt.

  5. 05

    Production Exception Lab

troubleshoot master-data, planning, scheduling and execution exceptions.

  6. 06

    Cost & Variance Case

trace planned and actual production costs and document variance causes.

  7. 07

    Cross-Module Integration Case

trace demand, materials, production, inventory, quality and financial touchpoints.

  8. 08

    Implementation Mini-Pack

process map, configuration checklist, test cases, defect log, UAT evidence and operating procedure.

08 //Learning journey

From foundation to capability.

How learning builds through a course. It describes the approach, not a promised outcome.

Foundation to capability

How learning builds

  1. Stage 01

    Foundation

The core concepts, vocabulary and tools the rest of the course builds on.

  2. Stage 02

    Practice

Guided exercises that turn concepts into working skills.

  3. Stage 03

    Application

Applying those skills to realistic problems and project work.

  4. Stage 04

    Capability

Using what you've learned with growing independence and judgement.
